There’s music in the air……
The scenario is the splendid Tuscan countryside and the grounds and buildings of the Gioiosa Farmstead where I converted the old outhouses of ‘Il Poderino’ into a Music Studio with associated accommodation and restructured ‘La Gelinda’, an old residence situated in the very heart of the village.
Why music?
I thought that if the emotions I felt, and still feel, were to be experienced by an artist, they would undergo a transformation process that could generate new and deep feelings. I thought that a musician would be able to convey them in a universal way. For this reason ‘Il Poderino’ comes with a well-equipped Music Studio with rehearsing and recording studios complete with hardware and equipment.
The Farmstead
The Gioiosa Farmstead can provide accommodation from May through to October in two quite separate farmhouses:
“il Poderino”and “La Gelinda” Farmhouses
The Poderino offers guests the special treatment and services reserved for music lovers and musicians who can make use of the Music Studio, a stand-alone structure with rehearsing and recording facilities.
This farmhouse is now made up of 6 very comfortable, double rooms with ensuite bathrooms and an appartment that can accommodate 4 people.
Guests can sit around the table in either one of the two fully equipped kitchens, or choose to sit outside, immersed in the natural surroundings, either on the terrace with a panoramic view or in the garden.
The carriage house adjoining the Poderino had been converted into a Music Studio made up of three fully-equipped, sound-proofed studios which can accommodate three different groups or artists rehearsing or recording at the same time.
The rooms in the Music Studio have been designed to offer clients a variety of different choices:
- fully-equipped recording studios
- live room for tour rehearsals (thanks to the 35 sq mt main hall area)
- pre-production
- audio production, mixing and editing
Compatibility with all sound recording systems generally used in the majority of professional hard disk recording studios means that recording and mixing can be done directly on the premises or elsewhere.
1 – Studio 1: equipment comprises piano, drum kit, amplifiers, bass guitar and vocal pa.
2 – Studio 2: equipped with amplifiers, vocal pa and drums.
3 – Studio 3: for unplugged, guitar and vocal rehearsals, to perfect songs or tracks or as a pre-recording practice room.
4 – Control Room: equipped for the recording and mixing of tracks.
